I have been using Internet Explorer for more than 9 years as a default browser in any computer I use, let it be a work computer or home computer. But I always have other browsers installed, since some pages will have problem with IE, especially MSDN sites will have some weird script error.

Internet Explorer 8 gave me a bad experience. Not worth relying on it anymore. I thought the problem with my current IE8 on Vista at my home, I am facing the same problem with IE8 on Windows 7 and XP with SP3. So decided to explore other browsers Firefox and Chrome.

Some of the problems I faced with IE8 go here

1.       Freezing the tab, biggest problem and annoying the user

2.       Irresponsive browser

3.       While using the plug-ins tab would just crash and automatically recover

4.       Yahoo mail, hotmail and gmail suck in IE8. May be a war between javascript engine and IE behind the scene

All the above mentioned problem gives a bad user experience and discourages users from using it.

I hope I may not be evaluating other operating system to replace my current windows 7 or Vista.
